Majoring in Animal Sciences
Minoring in Human Development and Family Studies
I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science with a concentration in pre-veterinary medicine in the College of Agricultural, Health, and Natural Resources (CAHNR) at the University of Connecticut. My curiosity for the natural world; love of animals; and desire to contribute to the wellbeing of all living things, especially the health of animals, have drawn me to the field of Animal Sciences. Ultimately, I would like to become a veterinarian who specializes in the treatment of wildlife. Exploring how life works through scientific study and experimentation fascinates me. I am passionate about learning about the environment, becoming aware of the needs of the world around us, and encouraging scientific education and research to promote active involvement in the care and sustainability of our planet. It is important to teach these subjects to younger generations to ensure a healthier future for our society and the Earth. It is also important to continue working towards overcoming gender bias in all professional fields, particularly in science, because everyone has something to contribute.
